Love basing house on a usual day. Went to the summer market but there were so few stalls it was a bit disappointing.
Back for the ghost walk / hunt soon will update again.

For those interested in history this is a must see site of interest. The 16th C barn is an incredible example of a brick built hall design barn, huge proportions.

A lovely day out. Very informative and interesting. Nice enough for adults to get their history fix and enough room for children to explore and play as well.

We had our wedding here on 4th June. After having had to postpone our big day twice due to COVID, and having had bad experiences with another venue, we couldn't be more glad that we decided to go with Basing House as our venue. David and Kirstie were amazing throughout the preparations, and made sure our wedding was everything we wanted and more. The venue itself is just stunning, and made for a beautiful place to have our fairytale day. We couldn't be more appreciative of everything that Basing House did for us, and how special our day was as a result.

Not a huge amount to see, mainly ruins and an old empty barn, but reasonably priced and with an annual ticket you can come back as many times as you like for a year. That's fine as a Basingstoke resident.
Good Lego model in the kiosk.

Museum was officially closed but there was a Christmas fayre on 28 November 2021. The parking took us to the ruins and while trying to find the Basing House we walked around most of the ruins except the garden. I was amazed to imagine how people consteucted such structures hundreds of years ago.
Finally, we found the centre of attraction the Basing House in the form of Christmas marketplace. People were selling Christmas items. It was cold but people were coming and going.
There was an old regimental show with gun fire. Stall to showcase old British lifestyle and activity stalls for kids.

Very worth a visit. A lot of interesting things to see. Just the weather should be fine. No fun in rain.

Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. It's a great place to spend a few hours exploring. You can try find street parking or head over to the pub. From there it's a short walk. Across the road is the main fort and battlefields used during reenactments and events. Very good for kids to run around in.
